IKEA has quietly slashed prices on many of its newest Matter-compatible smart home products in Europe and North America. The changes affect a wide range of devices, from motion sensors to bulbs, with some price drops aimed at standardising costs across different countries, while others mark a broader reduction.
Smart sensor prices now consistent across Europe
Until now, prices for IKEA’s smart sensors varied slightly between markets. For example, the Myggbett door/window sensor, Timmerflotte temperature/humidity sensor, and Myggspray motion sensor were previously sold at €9.99 in Germany, but only €7.99 in France. IKEA has now aligned pricing across the region, setting each at €7.99.
The Klippbok water leak sensor also sees a dip from €9.99 or €7.99 (depending on country) down to €6.99 across the board.
Price cuts extend to air quality monitors and smart bulbs
The Alpstuga air quality sensor, one of IKEA’s more expensive smart devices, now costs €29.99, down from €39.99 in some European markets. In parallel, IKEA has lowered the base price of its Kajplats smart bulb range, with bulbs now starting at €4.99 instead of €6.99.
Customers in North America are seeing similar adjustments. In the U.S., the Myggspray motion sensor and the Klippbok water leak sensor have both dropped to $7.99, after initially launching at $9.99.

Some customers get cash back after the drop
Several buyers have reported being refunded the difference after contacting IKEA customer service. Others have gone the return-and-rebuy route to benefit from the updated pricing. Whether IKEA plans to expand these cuts globally remains unclear, but the reduced prices are already live online and in stores across participating regions.
